HOUSTON (June 10, 2025) – BWC Terminals (BWC) today announced that it has been awarded a 2025 International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA) Safety Excellence Award. This is BWC’s second consecutive year being recognized by ILTA.
Founded in 1974, the ILTA represents more than 85 companies operating liquid terminals in all 50 states and in over 40 countries. ILTA members’ facilities provide critical links between all modes of transportation for liquid commodities, such as petroleum products, chemicals, renewable fuels, crude oil, fertilizer, vegetable oils and other food-grade materials that are central to the U.S. economy.
BWC’s Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policy is essential for the sustainability of its operations. The company has established comprehensive systems, policies, and procedures to manage both routine and emergency situations, effectively addressing risks, threats, and incidents. Safety is a fundamental part of the company culture, reinforced by continuous employee training that promotes principles aimed at achieving industry-leading safety results.
“Safety is not merely a priority; it is a fundamental value at BWC Terminals. This achievement reflects the commitment and effort of our entire team, and we will keep promoting a culture of safety in all our endeavors,” said Adam Smith, president and CEO, BWC Terminals. “We are truly privileged to be awarded the 2025 ILTA Safety Excellence Award. This acknowledgment underscores our steadfast dedication to ensuring a safe workplace for all our employees and key stakeholders.”
To receive the 2025 ILTA Safety Excellence Award, companies were required to score in the top two quartiles for both the 23-question self-assessment survey on leading indicators and the lagging indicator survey based on OSHA Form 300A.
